akihiko exited a very toxic relationship and never received proper love from his parents, he was struggling economically and didn't have anybody who loved him genuinely and he tried to change the way he lived just for you to say he is the worst person in the world? hear me out.
he did something wrong, nobody is denying that. it's a fact. but why do you stop and focus where haruki didn't? haruki himself was the first one to understand that something was wrong with him, that he was acting like "the old akihiko" the day akihiko went to his house.
he even pointed out that it was consensual, moreover he was crying because akihiko told him that even if he explained him what was going on (with ugetsu and his family) he couldn't have helped him anyways.
akihiko bowed his head to his parents, he left his part-time jobs, he started showing up at school more frequently, he left ugetsu because he knew that their relationship wasn't okay, he found himself an apartment and you still dare to say he is the worst person in the world?
also, why do you keep saying that haruki shouldn't have helped him or shouldn't have accepted to date him? haruki isn't dumb, haruki realised he was changing for good, he just didn't realised akihiko was changing for him, he thought he was changing because of ugetsu.
and then why, just why do you keep stressing akihiko's mistakes? he did something wrong, we know that. but have you ever wondered WHY? have you ever tried to analyse what was going on in his life? have you ever wondered what happened to him?
his life was a living hell, he himself said he was going through so much with his parents and ugetsu. do you even know what it means to love someone and walk into their house just to find out you they're with someone else AGAIN?
he didn't have someone who loved him, who encouraged him with music, who showed him support, who helped him, who motivated him. he had nobody. and even so, after he messed up with the one person who genuinely cared for him, he realised he had to change. and he did.
he apologised, he acknowledged what he did and admitted it was completely wrong and then proceeded to change his life. what else do you want him to do? it would have been nice to see more of his development and i understand that, but he did just what he had to do.
and for those who didn't read the manga PLEASE GO READ IT don't ask people who bash on akihiko "omg what happened" because those people clearly didn't understand his character AT ALL. so do yourself a favor and read the manga and then judge him by yourself.
it's okay if you don't like him, we can't like every single character, but to make him sound like someone who is a monster it's something else and i'm tired of reading yall's bullshit. you wish you had his glow up.
lemme quickly add something: the moment someone points out akihiko was in a toxic relationship, they're not saying ugetsu sucks. they just understood what was going on.
i don't hate ugetsu, i think that he is one of the most complex character in the manga, he portrays the perfect genius, lots of struggles and also what living a toxic relationship means. and i hope he can find happiness just as akihiko did.
so please, if someone is just explaining (FOR THE 4674975472648TH TIME) what happened to akihiko and they mention his past relationship with ugetsu, don't assume they hate him. they're just stating facts.
