So, I'm a farm worker.
I work at a small dairy milking cattle and sheep, doing general farm maintenance work and helping package and make various dairy products. One to two times a week a will work a 10 hour day and over a fortnight I average a minimum of 30 hours.

My bosses are great people. They look after me and discourage me from pushing myself too hard in an effort to keep up with them. If I can't lift a heavy object, there's zero judgement even if they can lift it by themselves. I can be open about my mental health past and present
And both show a genuine interest in keeping me in a good healthy headspace. When they ask personal questions, I feel like I can refuse to answer without negative consequences, and in most cases have answered honestly and been benefited from that.
I want this job and they want to
I want this job and they want to
Keep me as a worker for the long hall. You'd think this is something @ScottMorrisonMP would support right? I've taken a rural job usually occupied by backpackers and as a result a family business is able to continue and I'm employed!
Well riddle me this... If Scotty truly wants

People to work these jobs... Why does the current centerlink jobseeker requirements punish us? You see, farm work is a bit unpredictable at times... And last fortnight I fell short of my 30 hours due to a few unexpected events resulting in loosing a shift. No one's fault, shit
Just happened and I came up short. @CenterlinkAU however has said due to me not working 30 hours, they won't be paying me for that fortnight because I didn't meet my "obligations".
Now, I don't want to leave this job. It's genuinely the best job I've ever had. Sure the pay isn't

Great, but it's real work and with genuinely nice people! My bosses go out of their way to find me work to do so they can keep me employed. We're doing our best on our end to keep me on the job... So why is the @LiberalAus centerlink system trying to sabotage that? I mean, if
Something happens and I fall short on hours again... Centerlink is going to refuse to pay. I can't afford that so I'd have to leave this job for another... And that new job would not be on a farm because nearly all farm work is subject to the same issue.
Where are @The_Nationals

On this issue? Don't they realise the current system seriously screws over farmers who rely on casual employees because they cannot guarentee regular work? Why does the government claim to care about small business, then put in policy that means working for a small business as a
Casual employee, means you're guarentee to be in poverty? The government makes a lot of claims about wanting people to work... And yet there's so many stories of the governments own programs, punishing workers for having jobs.
Are our politicians this incompetent? Or are people
Are our politicians this incompetent? Or are people
Right when they accuse them of being corrupt corporate loving gargoyles who need the poor to stay poor in order to prop up their rich buddies and their own investments.
Personally, I think it's both. And that's why I'm a member of @AusUnemployment and why I'll be looking to join

Similar groups who actually listen to and support the unemployed, underemployed, disabled and racially marginalised populations of Australia. I only hope out voices can become loud enough we can kick this coalition out.
@AustralianLabor don't get excited. I haven't forgotten all

You did and didn't do for people on social security payments. If you win it'll be through lack of options, not genuine support.
