When someone with a platform tries to attack people, it's not just the annoying guy with a microphone it's the legions of grotesque pigs that follow, for days, weeks, months, after that. This is the real world effect of allying with right wing militias and neo-nazis.
For a guy with a podcast, it's just making a video and moving on to the next subject.

It's nothing new, I get pre-transition photos and deadnames sent to me on a daily basis by people who claim to be "to my left" or "real leftists". It's the same playbook as neo nazis. It's easier to convince people how bad trans folks are if you're their cool "populist" friend.
When you put people like tulsi gabbard on a pedestal, this is the audience you attract. And when you carry water for their bad policies, you get more of these people. Then, when it just so happens you make a video about a trans person, that pressure valve is released.
But the pressure isn't released on the video maker, it's released on the person who isn't the video maker. The random person that someone just had the split-second decision of "this is whom I will attack today!" is the one that has to deal with it all.
If people like jimmy, convo couch, niko house, etc., used their platforms to educate people on trans issues and try to help people understand things better, these things wouldn't happen.

I know plenty of people that just get into twitter arguments with someone and deal with the ripple effects for months, just from a few tweets that people keep getting directed to at later dates.

Having a platform requires responsibility and that responsibility is educating your audience and trying to make them better people or more educated people. When your platform is just about "drama warz", then you are doing nothing but tabloid gossip. Plain and simple.
