Time for a hot take:

Debut Culture is Bad for New Streamers

New VTubers will pull large numbers for their first stream and expect that to be the norm. After the hype dies they will be filled with self doubt and blame themselves when they did nothing wrong

Building hype around your brand is important but new streamers don't realize that streaming isn't as easy as it seems, especially if they're looking to make it their main source of income. I've seen many debut streams that pull 100+ viewers and they expect that amount to be the-
norm. During the next few streams you see them slowly lose motivation as they see their viewer count dwindle into the single digits as they begin to average 2 viewers a stream. They question what they did wrong and begin to blame themselves. Their voice isn't good, their model-
-isnt cute enough, they're just not interesting. None of these are the case but they won't realize that. Streaming is a hard route to take. Take Shroud for example. He streamed for about a year with one viewer. That one viewer was himself. Growth as a streamer requires both -
- persistence and luck. The fact you're in a community that supports each other is already a huge help for new streamers. Just keep doing your best and enjoy yourself instead of stressing yourselves out please. Growth is naturally slow and you're not doing anything wrong.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. I've previously stated my thoughts on content creation after Mori's new song if you haven't seen that before. https://twitter.com/RaineYiVTube/status/1356280857414299654?s=19
I've privately stated my thoughts on how to collab in order to grow your stream. You can join my discord or dm me to add me on discord. I dont really think it's something viewers need to read but if there's enough interest maybe I'll post it publically https://discord.gg/qZRpZ6e
I want to add on that less than 1% of twitch streamers even have TEN viewers on average. It's a struggle out here trying to stream. Good luck everyone! Let's all become part of that 1%!
