TW : Groping/Sexual abuse
I used to to take tuition classes for a few kids in 7th grade during my first year of college. Only 2 girls were there and one of them talked to me about a fellow classmate groping her in class.
She was too scared and embarrassed to tell anyone. (1/n)

She started putting the blame on herself and cried when she told me that it's all because she grew breasts while others in her class were still developing.
That was extremely heartbreaking to hear. At such a young age she feels programmed to blame herself for the abuse. (2/n)

She kept asking me about how babies are made. And one day after class I took a giant book that had a proper picture of human body & explained it entirely.
At first I thought she'd learn eventually. But after hearing about her experience, I wanted to ensure that she knows. (3/n)

That was probably the first sex education class I took. I didn't leave out any details. I spoke at lengths about sex, contraception and STDs.
Then I talked to them about rape and sexual harassment. The good touch/bad touch knowledge isn't enough. (4/n)

I told them to be vocal about their experiences. She did, and her teacher took action against the boy later. And the teacher was forced to talk about all this in class. She ensured that the teacher didn't leave out anything.

Later she tells me that she told all her friends about this and educated them as well. Even the boys. I'm so proud that a shy girl like her talked to the guys about this. It's huge for her. (6/n)
She finally understands what it really means to have complete authority over her body and what consent truly means.
I'm glad she is growing up to be a strong young lady who's vocal about her personal rights. (7/n)
