thread of dcmk hair analysis (sera's fault):
heiji: has tons of hair product so that he can keep his signature spike up and indestructible in the face of terrifying foes (criminals, the wind, kazuha, the wind when he's riding his bike). sometimes he uses too much and it stays as a spike overnight. he reapplies the layer
the next morning to maintain its shape. heiji just really likes his hair and knows its his signature style. shinichi once found his cabinet of hair product while staying over. he closed the cabinet and never spoke of it.
shinichi: mostly does not care for his hair. used to care a bit more prior to turning into conan, occasionally using hair product for important events, but now he just vibes. he's found that no one cares about ur hair when ur 7 years old and is embracing that.
kaito: his hair is a force to be reckoned with. never stays in one shape. forever durian head. needs far too much hair product to pretend to be shinichi (he carries a small tub wherever he goes now). cries for his wallet bc hair products r not cheap.
saguru: uses minimal hair product to make his hair look neat but tbh he cant rly care that much bc he's actually lazy. does his hair to maintain an image of neatness and also it makes him feel good. uses the money meant for hair products on spoiling his hawk instead.
ran: the horn fears her after the one time it drooped in the rain and ran struggled with it for a full 20 minutes. the horn has a better sense of self preservation than most people. ran does not care for hair products.
sonoko: has an image to maintain, often goes for salon runs to keep her hair neat and straight. she keeps a small comb on her wherever she goes. unashamed to drag ran with her to salons. the salons struggle with ran's hair. ran struggles with salons.
kogoro: too lazy to do anything about his hair unless its a sexy lady or a rich client. he spots a client, he runs to the washroom, he puts far too much hair product that it looks greasy and shiny, and he nods in approval of himself. it does not look good.
masumi: she literally does not care. she woke up like this. she feels sexy and awesome bc she is.
kazuha: puts a lot of love into making sure her ribbon stays on her ponytail and doesn't slip off. not a big fan of hair products since ponytails are just more convenient than fussing over letting her hair down. has a drawer full of various coloured ribbons.
