So anything action beyond nicely writing letters to MPs is now “white privilege”.
It’s “white privilege” to even protest.

Was the pulling down of the Colston statue an act of white privilege? This discourse is getting ridiculous and I fear is being used to dampen down Black people’s agency in protest. Did anyone actually watch the first Small Axe film? Did they not fight for our right to protest?
Any gathering of people has a risk of being arrested depending on what the police decide that day. You can be as peaceful or shocking as you like. From BLM to XE we must defend the right to the protest for ALL and I’m sick of this fed inspired take. What next? Don’t strike?
Let’s just not to anything at all then except for talking about it in the media and twitter. Oh wait that also carries it’s own risk. So let’s do nothing at all then shall we. The establishment would love that!
Hilarious that some of the replies assume that I have never squatted a building, chained myself to a gate, illegally trespassed or been part of a sit in. 🤣. Folks, that says more about what you think Black ppl are capable off.
It was only a few years ago large groups of young people of colour were lying down in shopping centres with an obvious risk of arrest as part of BLM protests and now suddenly ppl have forgotten about this?!!
Stop treating us like we need to be wrapped in cotton wool! It’s patronising and is disrespectful to the many ppl who put themselves at risk for the rights we have today.
It’s a choice. Let ppl choose what they want but don’t call it ‘white privilege’ because you don’t want too.
