I think it's time #LFC fans stop expecting this team to operate anywhere near how they did last yr. There's been too much disruption to Klopp's well oiled machine & until the new CBs are integrated & Fab, Ali, Mane & Jota return, they'll remain a shadow of their former selves.
That's not to suggest they couldn't be playing better at present, nor to completely excuse the lack of ideas when facing the same low-block tactics. But I've certainly been guilty of hoping they can just bounce back...in spite of all evidence to the contrary. #LFC
I don't think Klopp or Ljinders will have been thinking about the title for quite some time now, especially given City's consistent excellence. But as fans, it would probably save a lot of heart-ache if our focus shifts towards getting players back, the UCL & a top 4 finish #LFC
Naturally it's not made any easier by a large section of the 'punditry circuit' repeatedly expressing shock that "this isn't the Liverpool we're used to" instead of leading with the obvious context of *why* the side might be struggling. #LFC
Given the tough times we live in, with many isolating on their own & the sheer content dump of live football at present, it's become all too easy to invest far too much emotion in whether the team wins or loses. I've certainly fallen into that trap a few times. #LFC
