Looking back at the AQ10, a screening questionnaire for autism used in the UK, I wonder how I managed to tick any boxes.

For every single question I really wanted to reply “it all depends”.

To me AQ-10 illustrates the problem of using scientific approaches to assess something that goes way beyond it.

In neurotypical-led autism assessment and research so much is based on observation, rather than understanding.

The heart and soul are missing.
