What’s the truth? #Climate campaigners have condemned plans for a Cumbrian coal mine but Govt say steel production requires coking coal which would just be imported if not mined in UK. Googling suggests this is true but maybe recycling tech will improve?🤷 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-55923731
The expected life of this mine is 40+ years. Will there really be no better way to manufacture steel in that time? Or will Govt commit to closing it once coking coal is no longer a key ingredient? On balance, seems best to import for a few years and invest in improving #recycling
