Today in the Assembly, we are asking the experts what can be done to tackle vaccine hesitancy and misinformation.
79% of white people would take the vaccine...
...compared with just 57% amongst ethnic minorities
Rates amongst Black people are lower still

@LondonAssembly we have just heard the most reasoned and informed response re vaccine hesitancy from Mr Machray Joint Regional Chief Nurse and Covid-19 Incident Director. “We must understand the historic experience of Londoners of Black & African heritage ….
who are usually the last in line, and now are being asked to be first to take a new vaccine which has being developed, tested and endorsed by government in record time!!!
I welcome this level of honesty - as this will enable those at most risk to be understood, and for those closest to them with a developed relationship of trust like their GP to encourage them to accept the vaccine.
While the Government haven't always got the response to the #COVID19 pandemic right, the vaccine rollout has so far been impressive.
Our clear message 4 @NadhimZahawi MP in the Assembly today is that maintaining trust will be crucial to the vaccine programme's eventual success
