Canada has administered about 1 million vaccine doses so far. The entire continent of Africa (population 1.3 billion) had administered only about 230,000 doses as of yesterday, with just 3 countries administering vaccines so far.
One big vaccine maker, Moderna, has not shared any of its vaccines with COVAX so far, despite earlier pledges to provide affordable vaccines. Another, Pfizer, is providing only 2% of its production (in 2021 and 2022) to COVAX. My report:
