My opinion on the true depth of why Israel Falou should never play professional sport ever again.

Firstly, domestic violence is unacceptable. In any form. Irrelevant of sex, relationship between perpetrator & victim, if someone was “getting smart”/“being cheeky”. It’s not acceptable, ever. If you know someone who thinks it is and don’t pull them up on it, you too are guilty.
The comparison between Falou and DV perpetrators is ridiculous. It suggests that Falou made one mistake, once. It suggests he had a rush of blood and did something he would later regret, once.
That, is not the case.

His employer though happened to be a business that depends solely on fan interaction. Without fans, here is literally no professional sport, or at least not high paying.

The reason professional athletes get paid more than brain surgeons is because fans pay exorbitant amounts of money for tickets, merchandise, memberships etc.
They don’t deserve deserve more than a brain surgeon, but they deserve their piece of the pie in terms of profit share.

The pay off, of being paid ridiculously more money than you deserve, to play a sport is that you are expected to uphold certain social and moral standards set by your employer.

If the NRL believe that Israel’s believes go against what they wish to stand for as a business and a brand, then they have every single right to refuse a request to register a contract for him.
