Gramble.
I keep praising the game because it really is everything I was needing in Fighting Games. It truly reinvigorated my love for them.

Because it isn't an FGC shilling boneless game pretending to be worth full price, nor a shameless mobile RPG pining for money with minimum gameplay.
Cygames is already rolling in Bezos levels of Gacha-dough because they passionately made a REAL RPG with a fantastic cast and story, and then gave the license to the best qualified devs in the industry.
Gramble (or as most call it, Granblue Fantasy Versus) is just an honest fucking game worth it's actual value as a Fighter. A solid, original, unique roster on release with 2 very comfortably priced expansions. Brimming with sheen and style, mostly neutral but with great depth.
But what I adore most about it? The sheer fact that it's not a Fighter with a gimmicky beatemup attached, but rather a Fullscale Beatemup with fighting game mechanics that also happens to have some pretty damn solid local and online multiplayer. And the budget to show off.
I play online once in a while, but I've actually not played a single person in this game locally (not by choice, mind you. I'd really like to)

But this is the first Fighter since Tekken 6 I've been fully content playing all the time without engaging other players. Sad really.
I used to play Fighters like they were the only type of videogame. And more so, while I always loved playing with friends and randos, I would love spending Friday nights just burning through Arcade modes to see all the endings, or Story modes to learn more about the characters.
No doubt, it's part of what gave me so much passion to pursue character design myself as an art career path.

But now where online competition is the peak of Triple-A gaming, it's like Fighting Game devs have given up on the value of a home experience.
Like what the fuck is Tekken 7? I love the game but no Team knockout mode? Tekken Force dead forever? And the fuck was that story mode even supposed to be? And not a single additional episode for any added characters post release? Fuck that.

And don't get me started on SFV…
Mortal Kombat was never my thing and I know there's other issues with the titles, but they do get spoiled with Solo content in that game. Thank god for that. And the other ArcSys titles like DBFZ and Blazblue due feed you good.
…but damn Gramble not only survived Quarantine, it picked up better netcode, new characters (with 2 more still coming, and maybe a 3rd Season?) and content modes like Online Score attacks, Boss Rushes, Story Updates, and Character Episodes with EVERY. NEW. CHARACTER.
…so yeah.

Really good game. Not PERFECT, but absolutely an 8/10 Overall and a 10/10 for my personal tastes.
…8.75/10

It's really really minor stuff I could complain about, and only as a seasoned FGC member.
…oh.

And there's a completely in-game store. No micro-transactions, you can get all your alternate colors and dope unique looking weapons for the characters with in-game currency and materials earned in RPG Mode. Very Soul Calibur feeling.
Oh yeah… also this game's music is also fucking incredible. Like REALLY, REALLY incredible. ArcSys is always doing their thing but Granblue proper ALWAYs had incredible music.
