Thread:"toxicity" & "changed minds" are hot topics right now, but the discussions around it are poor, as people are mostly talking but not listening to one another. So this will be about perspective. 13'-present day access media has freely said whatever vile thing they please-1
About Snyder & his fans because its seemingly acceptable to do so without accountability. Like really foul, personal, stuff that goes far beyond liking or disliking his films. This created animosity with the fans who aren't into being called foul things relentlessly. Go figure-2
This combative dynamic still persists today. So when the #SnyderCut was announced many of those outlets continued the same toxic behavior, with very, very few saying they were wrong, much less apologizing for their appalling behavior. But something else started happening-3
Debate about how to engage those who "changed" their mind(about SC existence) became heated because its difficult to see how sincere those people are when they haven't apologized about their behavior, & still act derisively towards fans. On top of that it became clear that-4
The haters learned how to weaponize fan engagement via insulting fans & playing victim afterwards when fans insult back. The internal debate being "they said something nice. Lets praise them" v "they took Zack's work, we got it back, we won't embrace them"-5
People are starved for positive Snyder press, so they'll take it from anywhere, regardless of past behavior, seemingly giving power to those who harmed us. But people were, & still are, harassed by those same people, so are their experiences not valid? Is the press allowed to-6
