why one direction is criminally underrated, despite being the biggest boyband in the world: a necessary thread
1. one direction wasn't taken seriously as a musical band just because of their so called 'predominantly female fanbase' (when in reality their whole fandom is gay
) i don't understand how an artist's fanbase could lessen the quality of their music. this is blatant misogny.

2. one direction is still perceived as a 'bubblegum pop band' and got disregarded of how they matured musically. people tend to judge their music solely based on their singles, without listening to their albums completely.
3. the timing of their initial albums UAN and TMH was PERFECT (2011-12) UAN is a perfect party/dance album and it's fucking underrated. the songs on TMH are catchy and it's a brilliant fucking album! if only people actually listened to them before jumping to conclusions.
4. the gp is quick to label 1D as some 'stupid boyband that's famous because of crazy fangirls' which is so not true !? it's is also a reason why they never got nominated for grammys, even if they deserved it so much. always discredited, never taken seriously as musical artists.
5. one direction grew out of their 'bubblegum pop' phase ever since MM, bc the boys started writing their own music. since then, one direction became more of a rock band than a pop band. nobody can tell me otherwise bc have you listened to MM & FOUR ??? it's literally rock
6. MITAM- the album without zayn. which is a reason why it's usually discredited. yes, zayn's voice added a lot to their music. but ot4 did a great fucking job. the album is a fuckin masterpiece. it's a versatile album with beautiful songwriting. the boys matured in every way.+
+moreover, MITAM was a perfect 'goodbye' album, before the boys went on an indefinite hiatus (IWWYAS, history, WITW) i genuinely think that MITAM deserved a WW #1 just like the other four albums, but 1DHQ was so shitty that they released it on the same day as j*stin's 'purpose'+
+MITAM was robbed. one direction really gave us a masterpiece of a final album. it deserves so much more appreciation ??? this is controversial but i'll say it: MITAM is critically, musically, lyrically one direction's best album. periodt.
7. not only did one direction give us 5 immaculate albums, their live performances were outstanding + their stage presence excellent + perfect live vocals. no autotune/lip sync, no fancy outfits/bg dancers: just their beautiful voices, charm, lovable personalities and pure talent
8. 1D was constantly disregarded. their music never got the appreciation and recognition it deserved. 5 albums in 5 yrs with 4 world tours is godly, something unheard of. they were always on the run. they had to face a lot behind the scenes. they're so fucking strong. fuck syco.
9. 1D was a super talented, hard-working, dedicated band. they quite literally ruled the world for 5yrs (still do) they became something the world will never see again in any other boyband. one direction deserved so much better in so many spheres, despite being the biggest band.
