I don't know, but I think the way the police and justice system sometimes work seems unfair to the public. And the way justice system is set it makes as if SAPS don't want to do their work. But it ain't like that.
About the GBV issue. Police can take a suspect after the complaint laid a charge. But in order for the justice system to trial that person, they'd want the victim to have opened a protection order before.....
If not. The suspect must have done serious damage to the complaint that they went to the hospital to fill up the j88 1st.
There are a lot of issues that get to be checked before that case could be sent to court, there are 4 element of crimes that must have taken place before a police officer can open a case.
So us as a community we don't want to listen to police when they tell us how things are done, we make as if we know the law more than them.
Mostly when they tell you to do things a certain way they tell you to do, do them that way. Arresting a person is easy. But convicting them is hard. Hence mostly police tell you to follow certain steps before an arrest can be made.
