With the madness that is #NationalSigningDay, I haven't had an opportunity to show love to several friends of mine for #NationalGirlsAndWomenInSportsDay. Time to rectify that. These ladies are phenomenal. Some I've worked with, some I've only been able to interact with here. 1/
. @speakin_ontv: A Damn Good Dawg that will be good enough to be network news OR sports in short order. Remember her name.
@LarissaLiska: Competing with Larissa requires you to step your game up to new heights. You want somebody like her to push you. And a fantastic person too. 2/
. @brookechesney and @jennacallari: Two women who took their opportunities and took them to the moon. Both of them are go getters and strive for excellence on a constant basis. Now both covering major NFL beats. Couldn't be prouder of them. 3/
. @_HaileySutton and @madison_jaggars: My neighbors in the Montgomery market have consistently been taking their skills to new heights. It's been awesome to see and know that this is just the beginning of their incredible careers. 4/
. @SimoneEli_TV: An absolute boss in the heart of SEC Country. Seeing the work she does on a regular basis and being able to work with her and the amazing team at CBS 42 only makes me more appreciative. And couldn't be more awesome as a person. 5/
. @Ria_Martin in Atlanta serves as motivation for me. I saw her constantly work her tail off in Montgomery, and then saw it payoff in her call up to the ATL. Knowing what it takes to not only make it to a top 10 market, but to be competitive in an insanely competitive market. 6/
. @LyndenBlake: Lynden was a intern with us at @WRBLSports way back when @dayneyoung was the head man. Now she's running the show in Huntsville and doing a hell of a job at it. Making Alex City proud everyday, and I'm definitely better for knowing her. 7/
. @LGonTV: I got to meet Lyndsey at Georgia Tech in 2019, and seeing not only the skills she possesses, but the resiliency she has after everything she went through, she's extremely talented and tough as hell - and deserves that new job title she has now. 8/
There's so many more women in our industry that I haven't had the honor to meet, but see the great work they do: @RemiMonaghan, @KaylaAndersonTV, @JordanCrammer, @MeaganGTV, @nhutchisontv just to name a few. 9/
My point of this thread: These women rock. The women in our industry are just as talented (if not more) as the men. So today, and everyday I will celebrate the women in the sports media industry. They are awesome journalists and even better people. Love all of y'all. 10/end.
