#Olympia Mayor #CherylSelby called housing activists who paid for over a dozen rooms at a @RedLionHotels+ staged a protest asking the city to continue paying the bill out of #COVID funds "domestic terrorists" who were engaging in "nihilism" not activism. https://www.theolympian.com/news/local/article248970505.html
This is a clear example of the #Olympia city government doubling down on support for a militarized and violent police response against a grassroots attempt to ensure housing for the unsheltered community, which is threatened by both cold weather and #COVID19.
Labeling a rally where people held signs in support of unsheltered families as "domestic terrorism" while police used live munitions inside a building while evicting people from their rooms is a calculated attempt to scare the wider community from supporting community organizing.
Compare this reaction to the crickets from the Mayor when local police posed along side members of the anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim far-Right militia the Three Percenters - one of the main groups which stormed the capitol - when both were suppressing #BlackLivesMatter
