Due to food security, crop insurance policies, if just given a chance, India can move to value added agri products - vegetables, flowers, fruits. Imagine a scenario where California raisins, Canadian pulse exporters are undercut by Indian producers.
What's holding Indian producers back is the lack of a cold chain. With GST, one of the biggest logistics hurdles was cleared. With outlays on rail and road + cheap cost of labour and a corporate codl chain - nearly 60% of the workforce dependent on MGNREGA can flood the
labor market and bring down cost of production and transport to levels that will hit North American, Australian exporters very hard.
