when jessica and ash have one of those fights, jessica would enter ash's room at night and stand by the door. she always wanted to say sorry when they fight but she ends up just standing there, and then leaving after. ash is always awake when that happens, waiting for jessica+
but he knows that jessica will never say anything to him. but one day, they both had a very very bad fight. it was about ash still being a gang leader while studying college. ash never wanted to leave the gang because he knows that the gang needs someone like him to lead+
or else they're literally dead. they exchanged both harmful words and it lead to ash walking away again. then at night, jessica went to ash's room and stood by the door. ash was so hurt by her words but he is numb at this point so he doesn't care at all. but what he didnt+
expect is jessica sitting beside ash while he pretends to sleep. she removes the hair covering his face, and she whispers, "i'm sorry ash i didn't mean any of those words. i'm just so worried that you still being a gang leader would lead you to danger. we're scared to lose you."
ash hears jessica crying but he didnt move, not even an inch. after a few moments, jessica once again pushed back ash's hair just to kiss his forehead and to say goodnight.
for the first time in 18 years of living, ash felt how a mother's touch feels like. he felt like he really have a mother that he can lean on to, and show his vulnerable side without being judged. for the first time, ash knew the feeling of being loved like a son.
