How difficult is it for Labor to craft a proper unemployment insurance policy? Give the unemployed a universal payment equal to the age pension with no BS mutual obligations, & destroy the criminal 'jobs provider' industry. There are no proper, stable jobs for these types.
But Labor will never do this because their Accord never ceased: they will keep crushing wage growth as they have for almost 40 years, while gaslighting the public with claims about how they support workers and wage growth.
Currently, the poverty-level payments combined with the extremist immigration policy is intentionally designed to maintain a permanent underclass of easily exploitable workers who have piecemeal, insecure jobs, besieged with wage theft and lack of opportunity.
Also, it turn's out that Rudd's wife is very wealthy, with interests in the job provider industry. With these conflicts of interest, Labor will never reform or eliminate the rotten industry and provide decent unemployment insurance.
With the CV downturn, things have become worse for this underclass. It's a real breeding ground for social pathology and it will drive more anger against the establishment, including immigrants. But Labor will ignore this as racism from the 'privileged' white working class.
