[THREAD]You are living in an alternative reality if you don't believe Members' lives were in danger on January 6th, whether in the Capitol building, or across the street in our offices. There were 5 people killed and over 140 Capitol and DC police injured and maimed that day.

I was also across the street, in the Rayburn building, locked in and barricaded with my staff, as we watched in horror while this violent attack happening right around us played out on our TV. LUCKILY, no one made it down our halls.

But minute after minute, we watched and waited. We saw the physical representation of our democracy violently invaded by a mob incited by Trump, and we did not know what was coming next. As we waited for a response from the National Guard and others, we were all afraid.

The danger existed, hour after hour, that this mob might find the tunnels or break down the doors of our office buildings. To see a building you thought of as fortress before Jan. 6th desecrated was traumatic.

So to the Trump supporters on twitter trying to mock my colleagues for sharing their stories, you are joining a shameful club. The club that today stood up and applauded #MargieQ, and the club that voted (& failed) to remove @RepLizCheney from her leadership role.

A club that tells women to shut up when they share their stories of sexual assault and harassment. A club that tells Jews that the Holocaust never happened.

This is a club of people who would rather deny and dismiss the impact and trauma of an event, than to take ownership and responsibility for it. Like they do after a school shooting, or after another death of an innocent person of color by police abuse, they want to "move on".

Well, I have news for you. We are not moving on from this traumatic event. An event that was an attempt to overturn the will of the majority of the American people. And the members of the #SeditionCaucus and those who continue to push the #BigLie will be held responsible.
