Time to update Covid vaccination charts. The UK/US way ahead on vaccs, while MT and DK remain best performers in EU. Rollout differences within EU27 remain dramatic - MT/DK>5% vs. EU27 average ~3%.. striking difference, given that #vaccs distributed by population. 1/9
Accounting for longer EMA approval time, EU27 remain only at ~half of UK vaccinations after 43days, and EU27 does not look like matching the UK acceleration at this point in rollout. 2/9
EU27 a mixed bag, and best performer - MT - actually outperforms UK at a comparable stage of the rollout. This will change soon on current trends though. 3/9
EU27 2. best performer - DK - meanwhile matched UK levels until a few days ago in the rollout, but falls behind now as supply constraints bite. DK though has a far higher 2. jab share than UK. 4/9
DE at roughly half of UK's level at this stage of rollout, but will fall back further quickly on current trends. 5/9
IT/ES at roughly 2/3rd of UK level at comparable rollout stage, but trends suggests both will fall further behind. 7/9
Clear UK gov interest in focus ONLY on vaccs after UK approval date on Dec 3rd, but #Covid19 remains a deadly disease and while UK has far more vaccs than EU members, it also has far more deaths than most EU members. None in "best" Green Quad, some EU members in "worst" Red. 8/9
Increased vaccine supply will push EU members up, while declining death rates from lockdown+vaccs will push UK to the left. Complex question which route to "green quad" is preferable, or fastest. End
