The perception that minorities are going to be anti-British is very out of touch with how many feel. The diaspora search for somewhere to belong and call home and not feel culturally shipwrecked includes seeing a Britain, or a version of it, as home
It's very easy to paint a simple picture of someone whose roots elsewhere mean they come into conflict with loving Britain, but that's the perception of racists and hyper-progressives, who either don't think integration is possible or believe it's unnecessary
You can argue about the British flag's far-right connotations but that's because progressives gave up seeing flags as something. A nation is someone's home, it means something. And given we live here, it will also mean a lot to lots of minorities
This obsession with assuming patriotism alienates minorities is a skewed understanding. I wave the Bangladeshi flag during cricket, but Bangladesh isn't home. I love it, but it isn't home. Britain is home, always has been, always will be. And I love it
Too often, white leftists overcompensate with their "allyship" and do far more damage than good. This is one of them. Britain is my home and its flag belongs to me and my brown-skinned family as much as the far-right claim it belongs to them
