I asked this question after hearing that someone was surprised that many lower division soccer fans in the US view MLS as the enemy.

I think the results of this prove that a sizable portion of these fans do... in fact hate MLS.

It points to a few things... https://twitter.com/THEChrisKessell/status/1356795851084021762
1. More "soccer people" in the US are starting to understand the power dynamics at play within US Soccer concerning MLS/SUM and how the decisions they make affect every club... even down to your local amateur ones.
2. The more soccer fans in the US have local soccer options... the less they want MLS. This speaks to how hard future TV viewership growth of MLS will be with strong lower division soccer options in every large and medium sized city in the US.
3. The "Eurosnob" label that MLS fans like to use is actually... well ridiculous... it seems pretty obvious that many soccer fans in the US who hate MLS actually love American soccer... just not MLS because of well, from the comments a plethora of reasons.
4. To overcome all of this MLS has a vested interest in destroying lower divisions mens soccer in the US... with their position of oversized power and influence both politically and financially within US Soccer... that is potentially a very bad recipe.
5. MLS and its youth league could lead to a very similar backlash among youth soccer parents and players in the US if they aren't careful...
6. A unified pyramid would alleviate a whole lot of these issues.

7. Soccer in the US works exactly as it has been designed to work.
