In 2018, @wanderingwahba of @InnovationSask, @HackREGINA’s @DJCrossman, and myself (repping the yet to be named/launched @Conexus_CU incubator) got together to chat about tech in Regina...

We wanted to provide a

We travelled to Winnipeg to gain inspiration from @northforgemb’s Ramp Up Weekend*

We came up with some ideas from past @StartupWeekend experience...

We then built a model for an event we felt best fit SK’s needs...

Afterwards, people went on to achieve some pretty cool things...

Consignment sale guru Kristy Ehman fully jumped into tech and went on to officially launch @hyonconnect ( @cultivatorsk GROW company)

A group of WPG participants later went on to launch @TaiVtv, raised capital from @seantoconnor + got into @ycombinator

Regina tech legend @dcoupal was a judge at the event and recently launched @OneShotGolf

We don’t take claim for any of these things happening - it’s just wild to think all of these people were in the same place/same time/same event...

The word super-spreader comes to mind but I’ll have to find a substitute...

But why keep doing the event every year?

Entrepreneurship is scary and high growth tech startups can be even scarier... we want to make it feel more open and accessible for people to get a taste of startup life and launch MVPs
