Hey @CityofHoboken @RaviBhalla @PhilipHCohen

I'm a home owner on Garden Street (1st photo.)

What would be the first steps to experimenting with a woonerf-style makeover for our street? (2nd, 3rd, 4th photos.)

Our neighborhood is perfectly suited for it.
Here's an example of how a future Garden Street could look, feel, and sound:

Any street we do this to would become the most desirable street in town.
When I ask about "first steps", I don't mean dig the street up today.

Let's start low cost. Experiment incrementally.

Those parklets we have been letting restaurants build (pictured.)

Imagine if we built some in residential areas for sitting under a tree with neighbors?
New York City has the right idea - low cost experimentation with paint, planters, and benches.
There should be nothing in this photo that we can't do to makeover a block with off-the-shelf hardware and a budget of $5,000.

If we need a grant, we're missing the point of experimenting.
If money to do a low-cost experiment is an issue, come talk to me.

I'm willing to bet, that the boost to my property value for living on the nicest street in Hoboken will be more than the $5,000 for this.
