It looks like, in follow-up posts, he very narrowly defines "Cancelling" someone as them being specifically fired.

That's so narrow a usage as to be meaningless. It *rarely* happens, and is not what the people who complain about "cancel culture" point to.
"Gratuitously fired for minor offenses" is his definition.

Which brings the followup questions:

Gratuitous is a qualitative judgement. Who makes that judgement?

Minor, likewise. What makes something minor?

Who is an authority in that regard?
According to many on the right wing, a repeated pattern of 'racially charged' (read: racist and barely polite about it) language is minor.

Whereas a criticism of the policies of the Israeli state, or a discussion of our response to it as anything other than "Fawning Support"...?
