I want to "yes and" this: even the hardest game everybody has ever heard of (Dark Souls) has wild cheese for some of the hardest parts, and they're very easy to discover, and you know what people who yearn for challenge do? THEY JUST DON'T USE THE CHEESE.

I want every game to unpatronizingly let players choose options that let them experience games, and having an easy mode or the ability to skip challenges doesn't make your victory any less meaningful.
If you like a game, celebrate making it possible for more people to enjoy it.

I think, charitably, what stops a lot of people is what feels like an unreconcilable "hypocrisy" in liking brutally hard games yourself, while advocating for games to be easier and more accessible for others. This couldn't be further from the truth.
