If you are opposed to school choice programs because you think that it's a backdoor way to fund religious schools, it's important to remember that ALL schools are religious schools.
You cannot educate children without moral formation. You can't teach them history, science, art, ANYTHING, without teaching them how to systematize the information you give them. And every method of systematizing information is guided by people's religious presuppositions.
Likewise, you cannot have a school without rules. If you forbid students from cheating, you are teaching them to hold certain beliefs about honesty. If you forbid bullying, you are teaching them to believe something about human dignity. Those are religious principles.
Take gender issues. The local Catholic school says "students can't pick their own pronouns." The local public school says "yes, they can." The reason for two different policies is two different sets of philosophical presuppositions about what determines human identity.
It's not that the Catholic school is religious and the public school isn't. It's that the Catholic school operates according to Christian beliefs and the public school operates according to gnostic ones.
Likewise, here are some more questions that schools seek to answer every day:
"What is truth?"
"What is the origin of the species?"
"How should we treat our fellow man?"
"Which behaviors are good and which are evil?"
These are all religious questions, which makes it IMPOSSIBLE to answer these questions from a non-religious perspective. And while the gnostic/humanistic/universalist religion of public schools may not be an ORGANIZED religion, it's not any less of a religion than Christianity.
So, even if school choice programs indirectly fund religious schools, well, we're already DIRECTLY funding religious schools because EVERY PUBLIC SCHOOL IN AMERICA is a religious school.
Likewise, if you're the kind of person who shouts about separation of church and state when it comes to vouchers programs, there's only one way to make sure that we don't prioritize one religion over another when it comes to school funding--don't fund any schools directly.
Love to you all.

Peace, health, and get your kids out of government schools!
