Last week, the Biden admin deported hundreds of Jamaicans + Haitians. Today, this week & month, they are set to deport close to 2000 Africans + Carribeans.

At 3pm today, a deportation flight takes off for Africa. Yesterday, one for Haiti; a few days before another for Jamaica.
BAJI is not surprised that under the Biden administration, Black people are getting deported to Haiti, Cameroon, Congo, Angola, and other Caribbean and African countries.
Past and future deportation flights to Haiti are an abomination. The U.S. has a historical obligation to Haiti and must support undocumented Haitians by providing permanent protections immediately and ending detention and deportations.
Nothing about this admin’s values + actions give us confidence that Black people will be prioritized in the ‘new’ national agenda. Continued detention & hastened deportations are a sounding alarm for what's to come.
We are in for a long fight against the Biden admin’s policies that will result in the continued criminalization, exclusion + separation of Black people, including Black immigrants.
Electeds and the immigrant rights movement must also fundamentally confront their anti-Blackness and stop using Black immigrants as sacrificial lambs in their attempts to pass ‘bi-partisan’ immigration legislation.
