Liberty and Elm is a no-brainer. Approve it and let’s move on to creating a strategy for ALL housing. Growing our region requires affordable, workforce, and market rate housing. This helps our overall economy, creates opportunity, and helps us solve other challenges we face.
The @cincychamber data shows we are falling behind in housing and in population growth. My colleague @markylander leads the Chamber's Center for Research and Data - and we'll have lots more to come on this subject.
I think we have to consider these complicated issues with a foundational goal of growing our population. In the city and in the region. There are some ideas in the op-ed that might be helpful as we all work together to accomplish that goal.
I'd urge you to follow people like @bruddtweets @jasonszegedi @lukeblocher for good content on these issues. Feel free to add others in the replies.

The YIMBY approach needs more attention here locally. Lots of good data and approaches. We need to get this right to grow.
If Cincinnati is going to be a city of 500,000 again, and if our region is going to compete, we need to start prioritizing major new housing growth now. For all. (end)
