We've also heard from @BCC_Jane on the national picture and what the Chamber movement does to tackle low pay, and from @NEEChamber Partners @NewcastleBSoc who've been certified Living Wage employers since 2017.

Mike Wade from @NEEChamber Partner @HodgsonSayers explains they were the 2nd construction company in the country to sign up as a Living Wage Employer, and the 1st in the North East.

Mike adds that the movement needs support - pointing to the North of Tyne Good Work Pledge, and suggesting procurement rules can be changed as one way of ensuring those winning public sector contracts "simply do the right thing."
