Finally got a chance to dig into the Sentinel Comics RPG last night.I like that its central design goal is "In superhero comics, failure is hard but complication is easy."
Superman rarely whiffs a punch. Superman punchex a robot and the robot flies back and knocks Lois Lane off the roof of the daily planet? That happens all the time.
The game makes it easy because everything has twists seeded ahead of time. Or the players can take the lead and use one of their character traits for the twist. Or you figure it out together at the table.
There is a Silver Age sensibility to the Sentinels RPG but it also reminds me of a more modern take on big superhero storytelling: the LEGO Marvel/DC games.
