2/4 “but some crime types bucked the trend... e.g. drug dealing is up 16% due to proactive policing, recorded cases of domestic abuse are up 10%, and some types of online fraud - e.g. remote banking fraud are up 63%...
3/4 “The proportion of crimes leading to charges - which has been at historically low levels - also edged up as the crime caseload fell in the first months of lockdown, but dropped back slightly to 7.3%. (A reminder that in 2014-15, the charging rate was at 15.5%.)”
