Fantastic webinar from @theCCCuk this morning on the policy challenges around the path to #NetZero - my key learnings/takeaways this morning in a short thread đŸ‘đŸŸđŸ’š
Excellent overview by @mikehemsley from @theCCCuk setting out a clear path UK Govt could follow to reach #NetZero - including policies that need to be enacted pre-COP26 - helpfully crossing out what has happened!

Also calling local government as key but needs more collaboration
Fascinating from the excellent @camjhep Director of @TheSmithSchool - outlining the ‘sensitive interventions’ - that need to be made

The point of deepening public engagement on #ClimateChange is one that resonates for me - creating the inspiring collective vision to take action
Great from @Gilesyb:
- policy response to #ClimateChange will need to be bigger than pandemic
- #NetZero policies need to be linked to things that are important to the public
- link everything to #GreenJobs
Punchy & engaging from @MLiebreich as always: “our system could be as impacted by something like the @octopus_energy agile tariff as any individual technology”; also liked his analogy of some of the progress being like waiting for a sneeze - will move fast when it comes đŸ‘đŸŸđŸ’š
Last but by no means least @bryworthington on:
- constrains on the work of @theCCCuk (not global enough)
- inconsistencies in govt policies vs their messaging - e.g. recent decision on the Cumbrian coal mine & calling for departmental plans to have #NetZero overviews đŸ’ȘđŸŸđŸ’š
