Sikhs since the inception of The East India Company Raj, were the first to fight for sovereignty, at first for Re-establishment of the Khalsa Raj :

Baba Hanuman Singh Ji Akali was there before Rani LakshmiBai, before Tantya Tope and any others, the first freedom Fighter, 1845..
was when he attained martyrdom fighting the Brits 12 years prior to the so called first 'War of independence' in 1857, aged 90, he was 90 when he was fighting at the forefront and was wounded, attaining Shaheedi near Mohali. Those freedom..
[Pic. Karam Singh of Patiala]
fighters were Akalis, 32,000 Akali Nihangs, whom the media portraits as terrorists today, were the first freedom fighters of INDIA against a foreign rule and their allies, the Patiala Kingdom.

Let's turn the clock to 1872, when the first non co-operation Movement was launched by
Sikhs, preceding Gandhi's Non-Co-operation movement by 48 years.

Baba Ram Singh Namdhari (he is addressed as Satguru Ram Singh by his followers) launched a peaceful crusade in 1869. It was essentially a socio-religious movement which became
“a political force” in due course. The Sikhs protested against cow slaughter, advocated widow re-marriage, would have nothing to do with the British educational institutions, even the mail and tap water. Rejection of British goods, evident by their decision to just wear Khadis.
/A myth that was roaming around some days ago, that Sikhs had tortured a cow as a revenge on RSS, idiocy./

The same Sikhs in 1871 advocated against cow slughter which was until 1871 banned in the city of Amritsar, considering it's holiness. Leaving aside it's ban in the Sikh Raj
When in 1871 the ban was lifted by the Brits, a Slaughter house established near The Golden temple and what happened next? The same Sikhs killed countless cow slaughterers, followed by 65 uninquired executions by tying to cannons, the 65 Martyr Sikhs who laid their lives for Cows
I would bet no Sanghi would do it for their 'Gau Mata'. Would they?
Out of 121 patriots hanged 93 were Sikhs. Of the 2626 awarded life-imprisonment 2147 were Sikhs. Of the 1300 martyred in Jallianwala Bagh 799 were Sikhs.

Considering that the Sikhs were hardly 1.5 per cent of the total population of India at the time, their sacrifices amounted..
to 90 per cent. When we say Sikhs and Punjabis literally gave their everything to fight for Sovereignty of India, it's not a false assertion, Purbiye better not test our patriotism,
RSS's role in Independence and their claim as patriots is a chapter left due for some other day.
Linking today's undergoings for Punjabis to another farmers protest 114 years ago, when the British Introduced the Punjab Colonization Act 1906.
Canal water and land revenues were to be increased and the action of seizure of land of any person without a direct heir, was brought.
Led by Sardar Ajit Singh, these protests unlike today's protests were violent and 33 meetings took place, our protests are going the similar way. The government Just like today, offered and pacified the acts but this was still a covert deceit, just like today as well? ..
Only Lord Knows.

Violence ensued, Lyallpur was chosen as the base of these protests, 1907 was it when Brits had to send everyone their families afar, to Bombay, a safe haven. Once again Punjab and Farmers at the forefront against the oppressor.
The three Bills, funnily they were also 3 in numbers, were retracted, this eventually led Indians to believe that a violent attitude could be taken up to free the People of India from the Brits. This Farmers Protests led by Sikhs and Hindus, against the oppressors of India.
Seeing Similarities now?

This steered the Formation of 'The Gadhar Party' formed by Sardar Sohan Singh Bhakhna, inspired by Lala Hardiyal, interestingly the only common Link between the Sikhs and the Bapu of Sanghis today, Savarkar. The Gadar party, well some other day.
Only thing you need to know, Gadar Party was the voice of India against the British Raj, led by Indians, voluntarily most Sikhs stood up for the task of joining it, in San Francisco and later all of North America. 95 % Sikhs, you question our patriotism?
Furthermore they started the Gadhar Akhbar, newspaper to raise their voice against the British Regime, so it's not a new thing for Sikhs sitting across the 7 oceans to raise voice against oppression in India, don't be surprised if we do so even today.
Kamagata Maru will be adressed some other day as well, non Punjabis might not be aware of it, how would you, the Indian Regimes succeeding the British Raj, followed the British model of lies and malignment of Sikhs and Punjabis, evident even today by the Hindi News.
Jallianwala Bagh is not a name unheard of. Out of the 379 Killed, most were Sikhs.
This and many other Incidents will follow in the following threads, so Sanghis, certain Hindus, who're adament on questioning our patriotism and maligning Sikhs,
need to Shut the Fuck Up.
If you have a problem with Sikhs, leave our country that we fought for.
