Hey #WyrdWednesday, you guys ever heard of the Chronovisor? The Italian priest & scientist Pellegrino Ernetti apparently built it in the 1960s as a means to observe past events, decoding EM fields and sound waves from the olden times and playing them back on the T.V....
1/8
Ernetti had help from a team of 12 world renowned scientists, two of which were allegedly Enrico Fermi and Wernher von Braun. The machine itself was a big ol' clunky thing covered in buttons and levers & could not only see back in time but track individuals through the ages
2/8
Ernetti said that he had observed, among other historical events, Christ's crucifixion and photographed it as well. He also claimed to have witnessed a 169 BC performance in Rome of the lost tragedy, Thyestes, by the father of Latin poetry, Quintus Ennius.

Ernetti died in 1994 and the Chronovisor is now in the hands of the Vatican, who are no doubt using it to get up to all kinds of time-viewing mischief, as they are wont to do.

Curse you, the Vatican, for keeping all the truly bonkers but useful stuff for yourselves!

Now, I chuffing love this story; its got sci-fi bits, its got historical bits, and its absolutely crackers...

HOWEVER!

The evidence for it is flimsy at best. That photo of Jesus? It's eerily similar to one of a wood carving by the sculptor Lorenzo Coullaut Valera
5/8
That allegedly lost & ancient play Ernetti witnessed? He confessed on his death bed that he wrote that himself. Boo! There are some who believe that he was coerced into this confession, and the machine is real. Yay?
So, in conclusion...
6/8
The Chronovisor probably isn't real, but there's no way of knowing for sure as the Vatican won't comment. If only we had some kind of machine to view the past, then we could go back and see what really happened... đŸ€”

For more info, several books are out there, one of which was written by François Brune, also an Italian priest & scientist who even claims he helped build the Chronovisor! So consult your library or book shop, I'm sure they'll help you out, no questions asked...
Stay wyrd! đŸ‘»
