Before I get slaughtered on here, I absolutely believe AK got it wrong last night with the lack of subs.

I don’t believe he’s doing a great job and I think we should be higher in the table with the squad we have.

HOWEVER 1/? #bcfc
We all know where the majority of the issues at the club lie, and they’re vastly not with the manager.

What people have to realise is Dong isn’t going anywhere. He’s here for the long haul. He will absolutely not go back to China (as per @almajir).

2/? #bcfc
The club is rotten. It’s a mess and it’s horrible to watch it unfold as a fan.

But the owners aren’t selling and Dong isn’t leaving - I truly believe the best way out of this is stability.

Whatever you think of AK, I think we may have no choice but to back him. 3/? #bcfc
Yes, Dong could sack him. But that either results in a disaster of an appointment which relegates us.

Or yet another short term fix who will more than likely be sacked again in 12 months time.

And the cycle continues. 4/? #bcfc
My hope is, and call it happy clapping all you want, that given time, AK can pull us through this rough patch.

We saw how long it took him at Boro and we’re in a worse state than they ever were.

Yes, he’s got things wrong but this is a horrendous job to have. 5/? #bcfc
What I think is that if he’s given time, not only will things change on the pitch, but behind the scenes as well.

Dong clearly likes him and admired him as a coach. Maybe with a bit of stability, Dong’s thinking will change.

And with that change at the top will come a less toxic environment for the players and supporters.

People have to remember what’s happened in recent years. The whole club is full of losers.

Those are our previous 4 finishes. 7/? #bcfc
The reality is, as grim as it may be, that fixing that in the long term takes a lot longer than 6 months.

A quick turnaround just wasn’t possible with the state the club is in.

Again, AK hasn’t helped himself, but this is a much harder job than I think most realise. 8/? #bcfc
Yes, he should have made more subs last night. Yes, he could be a bit more attacking in his approach. But I do sometimes feel he can’t win.

People moaned about Rowett & Monk’s ‘boring’ style. People moaned about Zola & Clotet’s ‘expansive’ style. 9/? #bcfc
AK has tried to come in and shut up shop. He’s trying to change that ‘losers’ mentality the team has.

Sometimes, unfortunately, that is going to mean ‘dull’ games of football; poor results against teams we should be beating.

10/? #bcfc
But turning us around is such a huge task. It’s going to take time, more than any of us, AK included, imagined.

I just hope some stability will bring success. Or not even success, just a few decent results every now and then to keep us in a secure position.

11/? #bcfc
I just think that given time, he is the man to take us forward. It’s going to be ugly, there’s going to be plenty more calls for his head, but I still back him.

We’ve got a big few months coming up. Let’s see how our new signings impact things. KRO.
