The thing about the flag stuff: a lot of people think Labour doesn't really like Britain, and that's a problem (and one that, like most of Labour's problems, predates Jeremy Corbyn's leadership.)
Hopefully attempts to address that will not actually boil down to 'Labour politicians stand awkwardly next to flags, grinning as if they're being held at gunpoint'
But equally I sometimes get the impression that some people on Twitter want the party to run with 'we're ashamed of Britain and you should be too', which doesn't sound electorally promising.
Also: Scottish voters have object permanence and are aware that Labour is trying to win votes across the UK. Sarwar and Lennon wrapping themselves in a union jack would be absurd. Starmer posing next to his country's flag is not a dealbreaker.
