It is never not funny to me that Pākehā who are against "race based policies" that benefit Maori and encourage "separatism" forget that they are the majority because they deliberately implemented race based policies, laws, and systems that benefited themselves.
Like it's only okay when Pākehā do it. For years.
The Native Land Act 1862. The New Zealand Settlements Act 1863. The Suppression of Rebellion Act 1863. The Native Land Act 1865. The Oyster Fisheries Act 1866. Fish Protection a t 1877. Māori Prisoners' Trials Act 1879. West Coast Peace Preservation act 1882.
Māori Councils Act 1900. Tohunga Suppression Act 1907. Petroleum Act 1937. The Māori Welfare Act 1962. The Foreshore Seabed Act 2004. Women’s Christian Temperance Union denying membership to Māori women who mau moko.
The formation of the NZ Armed Constabulary Force to fight Māori (they would later become the NZ Police).
