Noticing such a weird bunch of things happening - people complaining about flags who have flags on their bio or even twitter handle.

Someone even said that all flags should be burned, presumably because he hates symbolism and so wants to symbolically destroy it...
Cultural symbols and icons are important to most people, even those who don't acknowledge it. Whether it's the EU parliament playing Ode to Joy or a flag or some statue somewhere the point isn't the sound or the dye on the cloth or the image, it's what they represent...
This is why, when such things are burned or destroyed, there is such uproar. The fact is that what is being attacked is not just a cloth or a statue, but what that represents to the attacker. (NOTE: I DID NOT SAY THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH THIS)...
Because of the importance of such symbolism to us as human beings symbols very often appropriated by others. Sometimes it's done by hate groups, nationalists, or people trying to associate themselves with a pop culture version of something...
NEVER allow them to get away with it. The left is the worst for this - they just let the far right turn the Union Jack into a symbol of xenophobia, or the Hindu sunwheel into a symbol of hate, and shrug their shoulders, ignoring the very real sadness this inflicts on others...
If we just let such cultural appropriation (theft) just take from people and then recognize the stolen goods as belonging to their new handlers they we are aiding and abetting the crime and doing the job of those who performed the dark deed. Let's not. https://www.allgaylong.com/blog/nhs-and-the-pride-flag/
