Trying to wrap my head around AoT as now I've finished through Ep 55.

It's been a struggle and I'm of two minds.

On one hand, the animation is pretty awesome and the fights/story beats are great.

On the other hand, there are things about Isayama's writing that I hate.
Isayama:

- prob anti-semitic with the blood libel thing
- always chooses the most desperate routes for his characters, the more they suffer, the happier he is
- his characters have multiple personalities depending on plot convenience (Reiner, Eren, Armin)

He's a RW edgelord.
I can definitely appreciate his plotting and ability to weave twists/interesting dynamics into his writing, but that's what carries AoT other than what WIT/Mappa provide. His view of war is a 13 year old's and some of the writing is really cringe.

Still a fine show though.
(They could have gotten out of Shiganshina with minimal casualties, Levi is so overpowered that they didn't need the whole suicide run distraction and Eren waited WAY too long to kill the Colossal Titan. But Isayama likes making characters suffer. He's a sadist.)
All that being said, it was really well animated and I'm mainly just Tweeting through it/my thoughts because this show is making me think about a lot of things. Which is a net good, I suppose.
