some essek thoughts - a thread
Essek has a lot more hurting to do in all honesty.
I don't mean that as in "oooh you need to suffer and feel pain if you ever want to be good after making mistakes" because that’s bullshit - pain isn’t some necessary component of growth -

i mean this:
Essek didn't have regrets, which meant he didn't really have morals, at least not ones we'd approve of. When he develops those, they'll will bring regret with them, and he'll feel pain. I don't think he's felt all the pain that is undeniably coming for him yet

Seeing Caleb hurt and mistrustful would be an important part of that, an important part of understanding and really beginning to internalize how much your actions have impacts. A part of realizing how much more goes on outside of your selfish worldview.

So I’m kinda glad Caleb isn’t feeling positively towards Essek.
And yeah, I hope Jester is kind to him, because Essek deserves a chance.
But I also hope Caleb is less so, because Essek deserves the truth.
