The Supreme Court has dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking an update about the CBI investigations into mysterious death of Sushant Singh Rajput.

Thread begins.
The PIL sought a status report into the investigations being conducted by the CBI.
The petition also mentioned the inordinate delay as a ground for an update.
The Supreme Court Bench was of the opinion that the petition can't be entertained and immediately proceeded for dismissal
The grounds for dismissal is that there can't be a time limit set for investigations like these which may turn out to be a crime investigation.
The Supreme Court declined to put pressure on CBI to submit a status report for the benefit of the public.
Hence petition was dismissed.
The Supreme Court has observed in earlier cases that crime investigations may take time and the investigating agency must be allowed sufficient time to complete it.
Crime investigations are not time bound, hence, cannot have deadlines. Such a stand may hamper investigations.
The Bench which dismissed the petition was presided over by Chief Justice, honourable SA Bobde.
He proceeded to dismiss it promptly after observing that the petition cannot be entertained.
The Supreme Court had upheld an ongoing CBI investigation into the case on August 22, 2020.
My observation: The Supreme Court judgement is apt. The CBI or any agency investigating a crime cannot be pressurized to reveal their findings.
The CBI is trying to solve the case and should get as much time as possible to get to the truth.
Any pressure may hamper investigations.
