Also, further explanation for our urgency in subbing to @CathyReisenwitz Substack. Which EVERYONE should go do: http://cathyreisenwitz.substack.com
I'd been making the joke (but not really a joke) for a few months that Substack is just OnlyFans for the take industry.

Just one more example of normie culture appropriating our (porn) culture. Like remember when we used to be the ones doing the weird, freak shit that made everyone go WTF.
Porn: 2 Girls, 1 Cup.
Republicans: Hold. My. Beer!!!

Anyways, independent journalist, writers, takesmiths, they're all mostly new to the direct audience monetization via recurring subscription for exclusive content business model. As a result, the biggest Substacks (from serious people) could get dunked on by mid-tier OF people.
Some of the stronger subscribed Substacks are run by freaks like Glen Greenwald or other crypto-freaks. We did the whole fringe freaks dominating culture for the last decade, it had it's fun parts. But we want to advocate for more influence by normalish people moving forward.
And that's where Substack presents an opportunity.
We (porn/SW) have some pretty specific policy agendas, and should want to take the huge momentum that SW activists have created, and pile onto it to push things into actual legislative wins.

But we are mostly low information / low propensity voters. Mostly a super fragmented, decentralized community plagued by bad faith in fighting, and only a super small minority could actually describe what something like FOSTA/SESTA is/does/means or how it came about.
What we need... Are wonks. Wonks are people who are increasingly starting Substacks, and writing about all kinds of aspects of public policy, politics, culture, law, society, etc.
What these wonks need, are subscribers. We're good at that.

So let's make a deal with them. We'll boost the substacks of any wonks who engage in good faith SW/porn policy takes as a regular part of their portfolio.
In the mean time, people in porn/SW that like doing good takes should start policy substacks, and we should boost those substacks, so that porn/SW substacks trend along side normie substacks. (That alone would make normie substack increase their adult policy writing).
I think it's self evident at this point that Substack is going to be a major platform, and that a ton of well known thought leaders in really key positions to actually influence public opinion (which is already trending heavily in favor of SW decrim) and public policy will use it
Substack more than anything else, seems to concentrate a particular brand of generalist policy wonk who have takes in local/state/national politics/issues. Which is exactly who porn/SW needs. As we're in this weird situation of "mostly local issues, occasional fed drive-bys".
Cathy, is ahead of the curve, and already has a Substack focused on public policy around sex. So, hence the urging to subscribe to hers.
