As per Brihadaranyakopanishad, In Vedic Age, Only Vaisyas Had the Right to form ๐˜จ๐˜ขแน‡๐˜ข (corporate Organisation)
As per Sattigumba Jataka, there Existed a Village of 500 Robbers with an elder as their Chief.

Possibly, To counter them, Vaisyas formed Their own Organization, as described in Jarudapana Jataka.
Mugapakkha Jataka Describes 18 Guilds. It is Impossible to ascertain what these Guilds were, But if one is to collect all the Scattered references, The Actual Number of Guilds is Close to 30.

An Inscription From Nasik, Dated in The Reign of King Isvarasena (3rd Century AD), Describes the Donation to Buddhist monks by Daughter of Saka Agnivarman.

The Donated Money was Invested in workers Fabricating Hydraulic Engines and Oilmillers.
The Actual name of Hydraulic Engines was ๐˜–๐˜ฅ๐˜ข๐˜บ๐˜ขแนƒ๐˜ต๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ฌ๐˜ข

And Oilmillers were Known as ๐˜›๐˜ช๐˜ญ๐˜ข๐˜ฑ๐˜ช๐˜ด๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ฌ๐˜ข
