The heavy snow started in earnest Tuesday night and by the next morning almost two feet had fallen with visibilities down to a half-mile.

Some of the heaviest snow of the event fell Wednesday evening after the sun went down. It was a treat watching the heavy snow fall over the streetlights in the city.

I thought the snow would decrease in intensity Thursday but it hardly let up. The wind picked up as well. This all became a surreal scene as the snow was *really* starting to pile up creating a tunnel effect on sidewalks.

Finally the snow let up Friday and I started driving around the area. Surprisingly, the roads were in good condition and plowed. This is leading up to Convict Lake in the Sherwin Range just south of Mammoth Lakes. Even areas heavily shadowed by the range received 30+".

On Saturday, I toured up and down the eastern Sierra to see the aftermath of the snowstorm. The fog over Mono Lake was a nice touch. 7/8
Ended the day and the trip with a nice overlook of the Mono Basin. FIN
