I've been TA-ing the same research methods courses for about 4 years now. Last week I participated in @echoechoR's webinar on Creating Engaging Presentations and it's already having a notable & positive impact on how I've tweaked content

I'll begin by noting that I've only participated in this one webinar so I can only
IMAGINE
what a substantial impact @echoechoR's BOSS training can do. You can check it out here: https://www.stellarslides.com/

This semester I'm focusing on tweaking my slides to make some of my talks, especially async ones, more engaging.
The best thing I've done IMHO is shifting to handouts and no longer using my slides as a canvas for students' note taking.

Important details and information are on their handouts and not cluttering up my slides. Now I'm free to make my slides as simple and beautiful as I want

I think this shift is particularly important for my students because they need to apply what they learn in the content course to the practicum course. The handouts are an easily accessible resource as they start actually
doing research
Or, at least, that's my hope

Anyways, TL;DR
1. thank you @echoechoR for providing that webinar
2. handouts to accompany presentations are awesome
2. check out Echo's resources -- https://www.echorivera.com/
